"Our boy sure looks good on the tube..."
HAH! My man's handsome, and he's probably, oh wait, he will shake his head in a minute. Very müüüch! Enjoy!

Okay, this is why I'm super stoked for this upcoming year:
1. Our Comic Book and it's Progress.
Not only are we almost done with a fully colored ash-can of the comic, but the story is going amazingly smooth! Ty's halfway done with the series already :) Monica is having artwork come at me like a friggin' flood... and I couldn't be happier! Doing all of the color and some covers is a LOT of work, but the result works so well with the art and the story. Hell, when it comes time to see what Tommy will do with the lettering, I'm sure it'll be stunnnnning.
2. Signing? Plublicity in the NCtimes? What?
We were supposed to have had a signing for the comic book at our local mall (Westfield's North County Fair-Escondido) and it ended up having to be postponed :( The comic book store that we were going to do it in ended up having to move, on extremely short notice and I pray they'll come back soon! I don't know what I'll do without my Sara and James!
The part about them moving isn't the "why I'm happy for this upcoming year" but more of a set up to this: The NCtimes called last night to do a story on the whole shebang, and the woman is thrilled that it isn't this weekend since she wanted to squeeze it into the same Sunday paper... So she gets to work on it for a little bit. By the way, I'll definitely keep peeps informed about what day/time the signing and original art sale will take place.
3. WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!!
Yes, finally the tickets we were going to use for last year's wedding anniversary will be used! Sara had told me that they cleaned and crisped-up effects in the Haunted Mansion >.< I'm actually thrilled to go onto the Small World ride since they added Disney characters in the same style of the original Small World peeps. Really, I absolutely love being at Disneyland with my man, we're so disgustingly lame together and it's oh-so-fun when we're both retards.
4. WE GET TO SEE THE RED SOX PLAY!!! XD
Oh my God! When Tyler casually mentioned "Oh, Steve's getting tickets on the cheap for all of us to go see the Red Sox." Not only did I have NO effing clue that they were going to be in town... I had no effing clue that Tyler was looking into this! I screamed when he said it, people around me at the mall were probably wondering who that freak was... hah... HAH! I'm delirious with joy! So yes, I will be missing my Coco Crisp:( I get to see my favorites though... oh dear GOD! Youk, Pedroia, Veritek, Papi, PAPELBON, Beckett, Drew, Ellsbury, Daisuke, aghhhhh SO many!
I even found wicked awesome shirts online... though I probably won't buy any, I might make one... not as cheesy as these, but I think I might do Invader Zim's Gir- wearing a Red Sox jersey. *heheh* I think I should have been born in Boston. Anyway, here are some of my favorites, because they're HORRRRIBLE, hehe:
5. Adios California, Hello Arizona!
Duuuuude, cannot wait. I can't wait to move to a place where, yes, it's hot, not humid like North Carolina, but just as inexpensive as housing goes! I really think this year is going to be turning things around for us, hopefully everything will be going well for everyone!
Well, I'm off to... do nothing? Nah, I think I'll go color some more =^.^=

It's so hot. So SO hot. I walked home from work (I was there at 3:30am- doing truck) aghhhh. Gilmore Girls is on right now, and though it's an old episode, and I've seen everyone one of them a million times (except for the FINAL SEASON) and it's so good. I love some of the "cozy yet quirky" decor and of course, any sort of sarcastic remark or dirty limerick makes it all the better.
It's keeping me distracted from the heat and the birds- Gir is sitting on my chest and trying to nuzzle my neck, he loves to romance me:) I'm wanting to get started on a painting... and SOON. A person that had contacted me through an ad on Craigslist had bought a painting from me a couple of months ago and he wants another! >.< My first sort of "repeat" customer! I tend to paint everything for pleasure or as a gift, it's weird attempting to sell my stuff.
You can go to my flickr
My version of Fuseli's "The Nightmare" is still for sale on my etsy
Here's a crappy camera shot of it:
*hint hint* Maybe someone may want this?
Anyhoo, me thinks I'll go tend to our "Garden" on our balcony, and then check out more roadside architecture. I was so happy yesterday when I fell upon this site. This lady is nuts for taking all of these pictures, it's wonderful!!! I found the giant generic surf shop we came across on a hellish thunderstorm of a night, that had an alligator's head as the entrance...

Here's me climbing into his head back when living in NC for a whopping 6 months:
I also found a picture of the "Joor Muffler" shop where I live- I died when I saw this photo, I just need to get a better shot of him when they dress him up as Santa. He stands a good 20 feet or so. Love Joor.

If you know how I am with birds...
...then you know that I have been crying my heart out since reading this.
I'm a member of a bird forum (go ahead, call me a dork). I read this post, and it shocked me beyond belief! I've read horrible stories of previous owners of parrots that are at rescues now... where they had mutilated and tortured their pets. This one so far, seems to have hit me the hardest. The story before I had read this one, was of an African Grey... the owner had purposely burned his feet off on the stove.
The fuckers that are doing this, need a serious check. If I ever, EVER, discover that one of my babies are harmed... that person or persons, WILL pay. I cannot fathom what this woman is going through, last I heard, the authorities haven't really looked into it- but are assuming that teenagers had done this.
Find them and FRY them- I have heard such awful stories from my father-in law's girlfriend. She works at a corrections facility w/juveniles... it's amazing how we cannot discipline kids anymore- they'll just cry "abuse!" I'm glad I was disciplined... kids nowadays would think I was treated horribly! Spoiled asshole kids.
Anyway, I don't want to be going off on that subject right now. Here's the post, my heart goes out to her:
"Well I am sitting here in tears, barely able to keep myself together. I haven't been here all weekend and finally I am mentally together enough to cope and post about this.
I came home Saturday morning to an open door and TWO empty cages. Someone broke into my home and stole my babies Smiley and Rajah. I called the police and they came over to check things out. They just did the whole questions and statement but told me that because they were just animals, odds are I could count them as gone. So the whole of Saturday and most of yesterday was spent in tears calling vets, the humane societies...any place I could think of that a macaw or an alexandrine might turn up. I watched CL like a hawk...
They knew what they were taking...as Smiley and Raj were the two WITHOUT legbands and couldn't be traced...
Sunday evening, the police called me to say that they had found two parrots lying dead on the street in Cupertino and wanted me to come in and check to see if they were mine. I got there and saw my two precious babies lying there in plastic bags and I broke down again.
It seems whoever stole them decided to abuse them first, pulling tail feathers out before breaking their necks. They just left them out like garabage. I was hoping and praying that they would turn up alive...and now I get to bury them outside today.
So excuse me if I seem to be not here mentally for a while...I am a firm believer in karma and whoever did this will be going to hell and will suffer before they do.
Sadly
Dani"

Hoo-Rah?
Well, I guess it's that time again. After sifting through numerous sites trying to find the right "blog" web-thing... it's been done. I now have a blog! Again! I haven't had one in so many years... unless you count myspace, which has become a place for me to check up on all past friendships and current ones. I never really posted all that much there, and really... the only place I had been, was livejournal. It seemed like good idea at the time, and it was! Too many memories are there and may stay there- not that they were bad, just old.
This was set up for me to rant and to possibly sell some artwork. I've been painting for over 12 years. As a child I was "artistically inclined," but I didn't start truly working with art until I was 11-12. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that someday, one day, a generous soul will stumble across this and go "Wow! I want that!" and I would say, "Sure! As long as you're not one of the scam-people that I keep getting emails from off of Craigslist."
We'll see how this works... wish me luck! And good luck to you;)
